My client is a leading clean power systems company. Their proprietary clean fuel and clean power technologies provide solutions to the difficult environmental and energy supply challenges being faced by governments and industry.

They are looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to implement process and product improvements primarily within engineering and operations, through the application of appropriate quality improvement techniques. Key Accountabilities

  • Work with design, engineering and operations departments to ensure that specifications are established for components and products that are appropriate for fit form and function requirements.
  • Support Research and Technology and engineering in optimising experiments for evaluating the effects of design changes and component variability on product performance.
  • Carry out and document investigations into non conforming products and processes and implement effective corrective actions, working with suppliers where appropriate.
  • Work within programme delivery teams to identify process improvement opportunities and effectively resolve issues by root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • As befits an organisation of the size and entrepreneurial spirit of the Group, perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned or required by the Group. Qualifications An appropriate level of science or engineering qualification is essential. Training in statistical methods for process improvement and/or in general quality improvement techniques is highly desirable.

    Experience
  • Practical application of quality improvement techniques, preferably within an engineering environment, with proven record of achieving results in improving products and processes is essential
  • Familiarity with a range of test and measuring equipment, for general engineering products, and practical experience in measurement and test methods is highly desirable
  • Practical experience in the use of appropriate statistical methods for data analysis and in the efficient use of experiments to collect data is essential

    Skills
  • Systematic approach to problem solving and non conformance investigation
  • IT literate with ability to effectively organise and present data
  • Application of appropriate quality improvement techniques
  • Effective written and verbal communication
