A P&E Senior Engine Development Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Basildon, Essex.

Description
Position Description:
P&E Senior Engine Development Engineer - Gasoline - Plan and lead the development of Engine Performance & Economy (P&E) targets to meet overall vehicle targets. Track progress and status of powertrain hardware to deliver P&E targets. Issue technical reports & program status documentation for all hardware evaluation and key program decisions. Support of dyno based calibration activity in support of program. Lead dyno and engine hardware interface on program into support and customer areas. Management of daily dyno plan for both hardware & calibration development. CONT......

Job Requirements
.....Support technical reviews at key gateways, where requested as per relevant program or PT Timing Plan. Release of calibrations for other rig users & plants. Troubleshooting support for other rig users and Engine DV/PV as needed. Liaison with hardware suppliers/plant/calibration teams as needed.

Skills Required:
Knowledge of gasoline combustion system, ability to evaluate and analyse key attributes and calibrate engine accordingly.

Skills Preferred:
Engine/calibration trouble shooting, program management

Details
Experience Required:
Dyno-based Gasoline engine development, calibration and evaluation

Education Required:
Automotive Engineering Degree or similar

Education Preferred:
Gasoline combustion-specific qualification
