Our client is a motorsport organisation based in the Midlands.

They currently have a new permanent opportunity for a Performance and Emissions Engineer to look at 2014 Powertrain development from a controls and simulation perspective

Working within the Performance Applications Team, the individual will be responsible for the following:
- Simulation and analysis of 2014 energy conversion and deployment for best qualifying and race performance using Matlab and Simulink
- Exploring and evaluating transient engine operation modes
- Assisting in the developing control strategies, engine calibrations and calibration techniques.
- Developing simulation and analysis tools to support the above activities
- Liaising closely with GP teams to ensure the performance potential of the power unit is maximised in the car
- Generating new ideas for engine and powertrain performance
- Analysing lap time or other racetrack benefit using modelling/ simulation or calculation
- Analysing results, drawing conclusions, reporting findings and proposing next steps.
- Working closely with chassis partners and chassis engineers.
- Continuously improving powertrain test and calibration procedures and continuously improve the quality of information which is provided to the teams.
