Our client is a motorsport organisation based in the Midlands.

They currently have a 3 month contract opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environment Officer, responsible for providing additional support/resource to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to ensure that the company meets, maintains and processes its safely and environmental management systems.

Working within the Facilities Department, the individual will also be responsible for the following duties:

- Helping to develop the company strategy for Health, Safety and Environmental topics.
- Providing professional help, support, advice and guidance to all managers and employees to ensure that as a company we meet our legal obligations in relation to all Health, Safety and Environmental matters.
- Assistance to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, Head of Human Resources, Senior Management Team and all employees on matters relating to Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.
- In order for the company to meet its obligations regarding COSHH, ensuring that a suitable and sufficient Occupational Health Risk Assessment is undertaken to identify health surveillance requirements.
- Deputise for the HSE Manager as a company representative when dealing with outside bodies (i.e. HSE etc) on Health, Safety and Environmental topics.
- Assist with development, implement policy, procedures and processes in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental topics as required to meet our obligations.
- Champion all Health Safety and Environmental matters to ensure that these topics receive the appropriate level of significance and attention within the company


Qualifications/ Experience

- Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Management roles.
- Experience of working in a fast paced "world class" environment.
- NEBOSH Diploma for Health, Safety and Environment.

Personal Competencies

- Ability to interact with all employees and the Senior Management Team (SMT) in a credible manner.
- Plenty of "common sense".
- The ability to influence (persuade) people who you have no direct authority over.
