The company currently supplies electronic systems to the aerospace industry for both civil and defence applications. There is scope for working on a variety of projects and products and the constantly changing approach to systems and procedures in house means that engineers have a real opportunity to help shape the organisation.

This role is based in Gloucestershire, close to the M5 and is commutable from Worcester, Gloucester, Swindon, Tewkesbury and Oxford.

Role Summary/Purpose
The Configuration Management Specialist manages Configuration Control for NPI and Legacy programs ensuring that all changes represent the best available business solution. The Configuration Management Specialist works closely with project teams to implement proper configuration control as new designs are introduced, and participates in program reviews to ensure milestones are being met. In this role, the Configuration Management Specialist will:

Act as a focal on specific tasks that require involvement from the Configuration Management Department
Interface with external organisations and supporting functions
Facilitate interaction of configuration control board members with each other and external organisations as required
Process engineering change requests and engineering change notes
Coordinate activities of project team members in order to accomplish overall configuration management goals
Chair Configuration Control Board Meetings

Desired Characteristics :
Demonstrated ability to lead / facilitate programs / projects
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with Windchill PDMLink or other Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
Strong interpersonal skills
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Demonstrated success in a cross-functional team environment
Ability of to organise and schedule meetings and drive resulting actions
Initiative to adopt /implement new technology and process improvements
Execute Configuration Control related to programs, products or systems that fulfill customer requirements
Lead Projects and initiatives to drive productivity through use of computer tools
Ensure that all policies and procedures are properly documented and being stringently followed thru all phases of the program.

Qualifications/Requirements :
Bachelor s degree in engineering or or similar level of knowledge and experience
Experience of taking a lead role in configuration management or a relevant related engineering discipline
