Our automotive client is a market leader in luxury and high volume off-road vehicles, designing and manufacturing in the Midlands.
As Cost Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for focussing on core vehicle commodities - from Exterior to Interior, through Power Train, Chassis, and Electrical - you will be the coordinating lead across a range of key areas, including cost targeting, cost reduction workshops, benchmarking VA / VE and more. As a senior business driving force, you will also be expected to deploy Parametric Cost Estimating and Should Cost techniques and to identify and support the implementation of cost reduction opportunities. Ultimately, you will help the company to secure the best possible advantage throughout the programme life cycle.
This is a pivotal role, in which your recognised expertise as a business advisor will see you leading teams and working closely with a range of parties including Design Engineers and Purchasing teams. You ll influence the direction of programmes and commodities (always ensuring the establishment of robust targets), and support cross-functional, cross-brand and supplier charge.
