Our client is a motorsport organisation based in the Midlands. A vacancy has arisen for a Health, Safety, Environment and IMS Manager within the Facilities Department.

The job holder will be responsible for managing the Health, Safety, Environment and Integrated Management System (IMS) activities and will be responsible for providing professional advice, support and assistance across the full range of health, safety and environmental topics to ensure the company meets its legal obligations. The role is to also manage the IMS system and audits to ensure the company maintains its ISO certifications.

To help develop the company strategy for Health, Safety and Environmental topics, provide professional help, support, advice and guidance to all managers and employees to ensure that the company meets the legal obligations in relation to all Health, Safety and Environmental matters and managing the occupational health provision for the company, ensuring that employees` health is monitored and screened appropriately as part of a structured programme. You will act as company representative when dealing with outside bodies (ie HSE) on Health, Safety and Environmental topics and develop and implement policy, procedures and processes in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental topics as required to meet company obligations. You will identify areas for improvement and industry best practice and put in place action plans to ensure that the company continuously improves its practices in relation to Health Safety and Environmental practices. You will champion all Health Safety and Environmental matters to ensure that these topics receive the appropriate level of significance and attention within the company and ensure that a strong "safety" culture is developed and maintained.

You will have a minimum of 3 years experience in relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Management roles, experience of working in a fast paced world class environment, a NEBOSH Diploma for Health, Safety and Environment and experience in a Facilities Management or Site Services background. With regard to personal competencies you must be able to interact with all employees and the Senior Management Team (SMT) in a credible manner, adopt a "common sense" approach and be able to influence (persuade) people who you have no direct authority over.
