A Powertrain Test & Development NVH Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dunton, Basildon, Essex.

Description
Position Description:
The Powertrain Test & Development NVH team has responsibility for implementing NVH test and development technologies and methods. The group has to measure, interpret and engineer within both vehicle and powertrain so the work can be very varied. Test experience is desirable but it is equally as important that the applicant has a good engineering background and is able to apply themselves to problem solving within the NVH arena. The position will require a flexible approach to working.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Powertrain/vehicle instrumentation and testing activities. Data acquisition (LMS TestLab / HEAD Artemis). Data analysis, signal processing and reporting. Subjective assessments of vehicles and powertrain.

Skills Preferred:
Candidates will find it advantageous to have some knowledge in any of the following areas: Torsional Vibration Measurement. Gearbox Noise & Vibration Measurements. Powertrain Bending, Moment of Inertia, FE/modal Correlation. Intake & Exhaust Noise Measurement. NVH assessment of subsystem components. Audio Feedback of Powertrain Noise, Noise Filtering and Level Appraisal. Analysis of Sound Metrics, Jury Appraisal - INCA2 Modelling. Modfil. FEAD/READ/Ancillary assessment. Resonant Frequency Analysis, Vibration Testing, Rig Testing.

Details
Experience Required:
Test and Development experience in NVH technologies, specifically in the powertrain area.

Experience Preferred:
Good understanding of English verbal and written language is required, German as 2nd language would be advantageous.

Education Required:
University Degree in relevant technical subject to BEng or higher.

Additional Information:
Independent but able to work as part of a team, creative and flexible.
