An Automatic Transmission Calibration Engineer is required to work for our large automotive client based in Essex.

Description
Position Description:
Lead development and implementation of automatic transmission control system for required applications. Develop & agree vehicle network interface to TCM. Coordinate TCM sub-system requirements & specification. Align all controls deliverables with major PT & EESE ECU nodes. Lead, develop, manage and execute development work plans (SW & HW). Ensure facilities and equipment is available to support workplan. Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for vehicle programme. Verify all attribute targets have been met to appropriate degree at programme checkpoints. Job Requirements
..Lead Controls PMT meetings to manage all Controls application & Integration related tasks, including Interface workshops, Change control & related Costs. Manage & direct EP transmission suppliers. Release TCM controls (HW & SW) to WERS & IVS systems & FCSD service.

Skills Required:
Detail knowledge of PT controls electronics HW & SW, CAN bus MUX interface. Understand the principles and dynamic characteristics of Automatic Transmissions, Internal Combustion engines (Petrol and Diesel), driveline systems and installation systems. Knowledge of the major powertrain attributes; PF&DS, Fuel Economy, Exhaust emissions, E and TOBD, drivability and shiftability. Knowledge of vehicle P/T ECU Application (HW & SW) & integration development procedures. Knowledge of ECU and vehicle P/T CAN development tools (INCA, GGDHA, CANanalyser etc). P/T development project planning and status reporting. Knowledge of GPDS, WERS & IVS.

Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of powertrains, vehicle sub-systems, electrical systems, controls system.

Details
Experience Required:
Powertrain development & controls/SW. Usage of PC based CAN development tools, vehicle diagnostic & calibration tools.

Experience Preferred:
INCA development tools.

Education Required:
Degree in Mechanical engineering or EE or equivalent.

Additional Information:
Minimum of 2 years driving experience with full clean license in Categories B, BE, C1 and C1E. UK work permit & valid passport for travel to support development trips in EU.
