A Performance & Economy Development Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dunton, Basildon, Essex.

Position Description:
Development of Engine Performance & Economy (P&E) targets to meet overall vehicle targets. Management of calibration development plan and daily dyno test plan. Report P&E status and progress in technical meetings and program reviews. Manage interfaces with vehicle calibration development engineers and external teams. Development of Engine P&E targets to meet overall vehicle targets. Management of hardware testing and liaison with external teams / suppliers to support engine, powertrain and aftertreatment hardware selection. Job Requirements
Support DVPSOR (Design Verification Plan and Sign Off Report) testing and reporting. Liaise with program team to schedule engine, dress kit, prototype, spares, etc. to support calibration development plan. Liaise with powertrain test department to coordinate testing and facility requirements.

Skills Required:
Experience of Diesel engine optimisation and calibration. Knowledge of diesel control systems and engine management software. Knowledge of project management tools and techniques. Ability to motivate, influence, and manage people effectively. Works well under pressure and capable of working with minimal supervision. Well developed interpersonal, organisational, facilitation, and communication skills.

Details
Education Required:
Minimum of 2:2 degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics.

Additional Information:
Must have UK drivers licence and be able to travel in Western Europe.
