Logistics System Controller

Our Yorkshire-based client is a global designer and manufacturer of advanced electronic and electromechanical (mechatronic) products for the automotive industry including control units, sensors, monitors and motors.
Main Duties
The key responsibilities of the role are to optimise, implement and control all logistics systems such that department, business and customers requirements are met on time primarily using SAP and other systems, and contributing to the overall performance of the manufacturing department

Job description
-Develop and control departments continuous improvement processes to ensure achievement of relevant KPIs
-Introduction, development and maintenance of the systems required to support all departmental activity particular focus on optimised efficiency of SAP
-Develop and maintain manufacturing capacity planning tools to focus on medium to long term requirements to give clear direction for future requirements and strategies
-Will be required to act as deputy to Logistics Manager when not on site
-Ensure that information and records in the are maintained and kept up to date and in line with company procedures and standards
-Plans and monitors activity on a monthly and yearly scale and monitors activity weekly/monthly
-Develop and build relationships with internal colleagues in different department and external customers and suppliers

Key skills and experience
-Candidates should be educated to degree level in logistics or business administration or relevant experience
-Should have experience of working in a manufacturing environment ideally at a medium -high volume manufacturing company
-Must have extensive knowledge and experience of SAP
-Ability to analyse and manage complex material planning systems and to appoint and lead a multi-status team of logistics personnel
-Previous experience of automotive industry supply requirements is preferred but similar industry background will be considered
-Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience and expertise in optimisation and use of SAP based logistics systems
