Description
Purpose of Position
Participate and support all aspects of operations, initially focusing on buying, logistics and inventory management.
Responsible for the Purchasing, Goods Inwards and stores function of operations.
Must be able to identify the need for and implement continual improvement projects, in all aspects of operations, seeing these projects through to completion.
This role has a real possibility to develop with the individual.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Create list of opportunities to deliver actual measured cost savings by working with engineering and factory management to identify cost reduction opportunities.
2. Maximise productivity levels through continual improvement of processes and by ensuring associates are cross-trained
3. Strategically manage the buying team in line with service business goals to ensure J.I.T. delivery of materials to support service business requirements using computer systems and reporting to achieve lean stock control and First Time Fix goals.
4. Drive 5s practices into the factory, ensuring a safe, clean, tidy and efficient work place.
5. Manage and motivate team, set individual cost savings and performance goals via monthly one to one meetings
6. Prepare and submit on time, local performance measures, prepare reports on operational issues as required.
7. Overall responsibility for the preparation of works orders for sub-assemblies that are not operated on the kanban system.
8. Responsible for the purchase of services to support the operation of the business at the most cost effective prices.

1. Strong knowledge of lean methodology with the ability to utilise that knowledge to drive continuous improvements in the supply chain function.
2. Proven ability to lead improvements within varied environments.
3. Able to operate at a strategic level and operational level to drive and support the business results required.
4. Understanding of the demands of the petrol forecourt industry from an operational and health & safety perspective.
