Graduate Analysis Engineer - Fluids and Systems

A World leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of diesel fuel injection equipment are now looking for a Graduate Analysis Engineer - Fluids and Systems to work within the Analysis group to support product design and development. This position can be based at the clients site either in Gloucester or London.

The Analysis Engineer will design assessment and optimisation using 1D system simulation and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
Work closely with product team members (Design and Development engineers), following the project and proposing design recommendations to the team based on simulation results.
Report to the Fluids and Systems Analysis Team Leader, documenting analysis methods, results and conclusions.
Support the development and implementation of new analysis techniques to improve simulation capabilities and product performance.
Plan work activities effectively, and support project planning.
Assist in arranging meetings and compiling agendas and minutes.
Contribute to Total Quality, ISO/TS16949:2002 / ISO 14001 and continuous improvement activities within department and business.

The successful applicant will hold a degree in engineering with a strong mechanical component. Some experience in the analysis of mechanical or hydraulic systems

Candidates should demonstrate:
Proven understanding of the principals of physics and mechanical engineering
Familiarity with fluid dynamics and heat flow
Working knowledge of commercial 1D and/or CFD simulation software (preferably AMESim and Fluent)
The ability to study a problem and identify the most appropriate analysis techniques (hand calculations, 1D/2D/3D, testing actual components)
Understanding the nature of models and the consequences of the assumptions used
Ability to work as part of a team whilst showing self motivation and initiative
Focus on completing activities to tight schedules
Effective written and verbal communication
Some experience of following analysis procedures
