Controlled Power Technologies (CPT) was established in 2007 to acquire and take to market a family of CO2 reducing automotive Powertrain products developed by a global tier 1 supplier. Following market success this leading edge engineering Company based in Basildon and Coventry is now strengthening its experienced team to continue to build on the growing success of CPT, particularly with the preparation of its modular hybrid products for a number of customer applications in Europe and US through to production launch.
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, integration and testing of all CPT technologies and products for many global customers. The post holder will be required to support the development of Switched Reluctance (SR) motor structural design and NVH development along with system thermals and vehicle integration techniques in co-operation with hardware, software and system/calibration co-workers and external development partners.
Candidates should be degree qualified or equivalent experience plus other qualifications in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (Mechanical bias). The post holder will be a co-operative team orientated individual with confidence to demonstrate leadership in the design of complex mechanical assemblies working with a team of highly motivated and skilled engineers interfacing with customers, partners and suppliers. Experience of Engine and Powertrain systems design and development is essential. Previous experience of Hybrid Systems, Integration, Calibration and Development together with the design, development and manufacture of electric machines is desirable. A demonstrated strength in use of process improvement techniques and tools (eg DFMEA, 8D, 6 Sigma).
