Description:
In this challenging role as a Principal Engineer, Mechanical Development, you are responsible for the development of mechanical components or systems. You will be working in the Mechanical Development engineering department and reporting to the Mechanical Development Engineering Manager.
Resposibilities
-Responsible for structural design and development of a given component or system involving applying standard practices / techniques, analyzing / correlating data, recognizing discrepancies in results, following established procedures and operations, documenting results.
-Work includes problem definition via working with Service / customers, failure analysis, analysis of data, comparative analysis, procurement, bench testing, engine testing, interfacing with manufacturing / purchasing, product release.
-Lead projects and drive to closure via strong understanding of engine systems and quality systems / product change system, requires working independently and developing methods / tests to understand complex design related issues.
-Provides training / support to others within group.
-Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected, receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
Experience:
-Good knowledge of engines and engine components
-Project Management skills
-Good written and oral communication
