A Vehicle Safety Engineer - Hybrid Engineering is required to support a major new development within a market leading design/manufacture of high end luxury/SUV/off-road vehicles based in the West Midlands
This role is part of an exciting new expansion of the Hybrid Engineering Electric Vehicle team to meet increasing demands with the launch of future models

As Safety engineer you'll have knowledge of hybrid systems, especially HV batteries, power electronics and control systems and be responsible for the following:
- Production of the system safety case.
- System Hazard analysis and risk estimation.
- Production of safety test plan.
- Liaison with system supplier to ensure safety requirements are met and documented.
- Liaison with any 3rd party safety assessors to ensure 3rd part sign-off.
- Liaison with the System team to translate safety requirements into system requirements.
- Support of system safety reviews.
- Support/training of System team to carry out safety related tasks.

You will meet the IEE guidelines for competency with respect to safety related systems.
This should include the following:
- Strong experience with safety related systems, particularly complex electronic systems.
- Actual involvement in safety case production and 3rd party assessment.
- Safety critical software techniques and methods.
- Design for safety related systems.
- Safety system analysis
- Experience with the various safety standards (IEC91508, ISO26262, Def-Stan etc).

The candidate should be qualified to degree level or be able to demonstrate equivalent levels of training and experience
