Our Client is designing systems for aircraft of the future, providing actuator drive and power control electronics that help our customers surpass the performance standards of the best aircraft flying today.
As a result of more new design wins, they are seeking to further expand their electronics hardware design team and require Principal Engineer - Electronics Design based in Buckinghamshire.
Applying industry leading design and management techniques, our Client is creating outstanding aircraft electronics, bringing reliability, high performance, maintainability and enhanced fuel economy to our customers.
They are seeking experienced engineers to execute detailed design of high performance analogue and digital hardware, typically working in teams of two to five hardware engineers within a total team of up to 50 people at their modern engineering base. The teams are responsible for carrying out all the tasks required to deliver a system or subsystem on time and to the required quality standards.
Engineers will bring good knowledge of modern SMT electronic components, an understanding of when custom components can be incorporated with advantage, and the ability to deploy appropriate software analysis tools as required.
The teams also need to bring sound EMC design skills and a good appreciation of the factors that need to be managed to deliver the size, weight and reliability goals our customers set.
Engineers will deliver the documentation for professional or military systems that give customers and airworthiness authorities appropriate assurance that the design has been professionally executed and proven.
Our senior engineers assist project managers with estimating work and ensure they follow through on programmes and ensure timely completion. You should be prepared to share your expertise and help less experienced staff develop their skills.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong Hardware Electronic Engineering skills
• A degree level or HND qualification in Engineering or equivalent experience. Experience giving technical guidance to other team members and resources.
• A proactive style, team spirit, high energy level, and positive outlook.
• Demonstrable Time Management skills
• Ability to multi task and cope with a degree of pressure in a professional product development environment.
In addition;
• Work experience in a similar or related industry
• Knowledge of or experience with one or more of software tools: PSPICE (circuit simulation), Saber (circuit simulation), Mathcad, Simulink, Matlab.
• An understanding of electrical generator and brushless DC motor drive operation.
• Understanding of design for EMC.
• Knowledge of DO254 or related standards.
