If you have senior-level product engineering experience, rich exposure to 'design for manufacture' and a solid history of new product introduction then this is the opportunity for you. 

A new role, Head of Product Engineering has been created reporting to the Chief Executive, with an attractive package of £60,000 plus benefits. Your challenge is to orchestrate the complete product design and development process through to production for one of the largest manufacturers of high quality furniture in the UK, supplying to most high-end retailers including Laura Ashley, DFS and Next. 

In addition to a design or engineering related degree, you will have experience in the following: 

• Significant experience at senior level in a product design and/or development function 
• Design for manufacture (DFM), and new product introduction (NPI) experience 
• Working as part of an integrated site management team 
• Resource planning to meet customer demands 
• Leading and managing a product team of up to 20 people 
• Providing a design interface with key customers 

The Head of Product Engineering's role will be to oversee the whole process, and through a team of around 20 people, ensure that all gateways are met including design, development, validation and production handover through to providing complete bill of materials to production. It's likely that you have previously worked at a level giving you an overall awareness of all product design or product development processes involved in successfully launching over 30 new designs per year within very short lead times, however the industries you have worked in is less important. 

This is an ambitious, forward-thinking organisation and this role represents an excellent opportunity for the right person. The salary for the Head of Product Engineering is up to £60,000 plus contributory pension scheme and private medical cover, reflecting the experience and calibre of person needed.
