Design and Process Development Engineer - Coventry - Great Salary + car allowance

An experienced Design and Process Development Engineer is required to work on battery module development programmes targeted at producing reliable and cost effective hardware solutions. This centre of excellence for the development of electric and hybrid vehicles is making significant investment in state of the art facilities for battery development and this key role that will contribute significantly to its success. Aspects of the job will include, development of conceptual designs for battery cells packaging, material and process selection, detailed materials and failure mode investigations, production of prototype battery modules, preparation of detailed technical reports.

Applications are encouraged from engineers with a strong background in energy storage device hardware design and / or process development. Essential candidate background needed for this job includes:

- Significant experience in a process development and product design
- Practical hands-on technical skills
- Use of analytical techniques such as SEM and EDAX
- Adoption of 6 Sigma approach to problem solving and process development
- Degree qualified or similar in metallurgy, chemistry or appropriate engineering discipline
