Mechanical Design Engineer - Hybrid Vehicle Battery Packs - Automotive - Midlands - £Excellent Salary or Hourly Contract

This is great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a very successful, prestigious vehicle manufacturer and work on the development of the next generation of hybrid electric vehicles. Leading the design of battery packs the key responsibilities will include, integration of the battery packs into the vehicles, development of design guidelines, creation of mechanical and test specifications.

Applications are encouraged from experienced Mechanical Design Engineers with a good understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques.

Essential experience must include:
- Mechanical system integration ideally also involving electrical and / or thermal systems
- Skilled in the use of a design package such as Catia V5, Solidworks, ProE, UG.
- Problem solving utilising techniques such as FTA, 8D, 5Y.
- Design for manufacture

This role is open to candidates seeking a permanent staff position (Degree qualification essential) or a contract assignment (Degree not essential).
