Currently recruiting for a Logistics Manager to work for a Massive European Parts Manufacturer and Exporter. The client is ideally looking for someone from a high volume multisite background although an automotive background would be advantageous it is not a must.

The successful Logistics Manager will need to be based in or be prepared to relocate to the Midlands area, the role will also include a small amount of travel including some in Europe. The package is a very competitive one with a circa £50K salary.

The main duties and responsibilities of the Logistics Manager will be to guarantee best in class service rate to the customers in the UK and ROI with optimized inventory at the lowest cost level, through the administration and control of the information and physical flows, and continuous optimization of the processes and resources through VPS tools, and also to manage the contract of all Logistic subcontracted suppliers.

To develop and implement supply and logistic plans, schedules, budgets, procedures and standards according to Group Directives as well as being responsible for managing and optimising of all logistics activities including: cooperation with suppliers, transportation and distribution, procurement, inventory control and warehouse management.

Supply Chain

-Build and manage domestic distribution flows to guarantee the demand for services in line with the specificities of the UK market – next day delivery,
customer collect, express delivery, weekly order customers, retail and e-commerce customers

-Manage the logistics service contract with suppliers to ensure optimum level of service

Stock Management

-Animation of Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) within the Division including Demand Planning (DP).

-Control of Master Production Scheduling (MPS) in co-ordination with SIOP Manager and Central Procurement Team in Paris.

-Participate in Product Life Cycle (PLC), developing action plans for non-useful stock and depreciation reduction in coordination with Marketing, Sales and Finance.

VPS Management

-Manage the action plan to improve the processes in order to achieve Branch targets in Quality, Costs and delivery performance take into account
V5000 road maps.

-Implement and manage all tools and methods required by Valeo Production System (VPS): SIOP/MPS/MRP, VPS Foundations, Auto-Quality,
Just-In-Time and Kaizen

Team Management

- Manage the team of VPS Engineers, Supply Chain Co-Ordinators and Warehouse Manager. Indirectly responsible for warehouse operator team of c.20.
Ensure team flexibility and improvement of professional competencies across the supply chain function.

-Work closely with Central Procurement Team
