We are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician on a 3-month contract, with possibility of permanent placement based in Peterborough.
As Maintenance Technician, you will be based at our client`s Peterborough site within the Assembly, Test and Finish area. This is key and pivotal role in helping develop and maintain the new facility, as well as being responsible for the day-to-day maintenance which includes fault finding on electrical/electronic circuits, pneumatic/hydraulic circuits, and working to a planned preventative maintenance schedule, you will also be liaising with the manufacturing and engineering departments to further develop the equipment to ensure equipment availability, this will involve managing projects within the areas of responsibility.

Successful candidates must be able to work flexibly to the needs of the production shift patterns.

Our client is a leading supplier of Marine Power products. They are currently seeking an APQP Engineer to be based out of there offices based in the South of England.
The role requires clear thinking, attention to detail, excellent organisational and communication skills and will be required to effectively work within various teams, together with a high level of initiative to ensure key objectives and deadlines are met.
Initially introducing the philosophy and processes of APQP into Wimborne.
Providing strong leadership to drive early collaboration between suppliers, design engineers, Process Control Engineers (PCE) and Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD) teams for successful NPI and engineering change.
Arranging and managing, joint development meetings between suppliers and design engineering for early supplier engagement in Caterpillar designs. The primary output, by way of Feasibility Agreements, will be to ensure frequent supplier collaboration in the design for manufacturability, quality and cost.
Manage and direct internal and external agency PCE work to ensure complete supplier coverage of the APQP steps.
Accountable for ensuring suppliers are selected and purchase orders launched according to the strategic component sourcing plans.

Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing or equivalent experience in whole APQP Path (end to end NPI path) -high level of engineering planning
Experience managing APQP

Candidates who hold a degree in an alternative discipline who can demonstrate thorough product and component knowledge experience will also be considered.

Desirable:
Knowledge of Caterpillar systems
Direct purchasing experience is desirable but not essential.
6 Sigma experience gained through a Black Belt position is also desirable with a solid and practical understanding of personal computers and especially MS Project software

Job Overview

Our client is a world leading commercial vehicle manufacturer who, more recently, has moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.
You will be responsible for the routine administration of the POR system from creation through Management Approval to order placement, maintenance of PO database, reporting on PO status, resolution of queries and the management of the contractor process. You will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Preferred Supplier Register, RFQ and Tender process for major suppliers of services to the company. You will review the existing procurement system and processes to identify omissions, non-value added activities and bottlenecks with process metrics to substantiate. In conjunction with all process stakeholders and as part of the Purchase Team, you will develop a revised procurement structure which improves total value to the company with reduced throughput time and manual intervention.
You must have a degree or purchasing diploma qualification together with membership of a professional body (CIPS) or equivalent and experience of major contract tendering and evaluation for capital goods and services. In addition, you must be able to work with the Engineering Team to obtain best value on the procurement of prototype and small batch components and have an understanding of the structure of processes and procedures required for a total procurement function and its place within a Quality Management System. You must also have an understanding of legal frameworks and contract law and have effective negotiation, analytical and evaluation skills and a sound commercial and financial awareness. In addition, you must be able to build strong supplier/customer relationships, have a demonstrable track record of cost-down achievement, staff management and leadership experience. Although based in the West Midlands, you will be required to undertake limited travel to suppliers in the UK and Europe as required together with occasional international travel.
