A National Hire Manager ideally degree qualified within the construction sector is required to lead and develop the performance of the Commercial Team in order to grow turnover in line with our client's strategic targets and requirements. Based at Head Office in Smethwick this role will require extensive travel across the UK with the responsibility for the training, motivation and management of the Commercial Team. Working closely with the Business Manager you will be able to demonstrate high levels of commercial experience and posses proven man management skills.

You must have experience with:
- Sales experience is essential as candidates will be expected to further develop and implement the Sales Excellence (Training programme) and Hire Impact (business development) processes within the business to meet challenging revenue growth expectations.
- Experience of working with national accounts would be beneficial too, as you will be expected to develop your own customer portfolio.
- Carrying out structured Training regimes including accompanied visits, joint visits and stand-alone workshops in conjunction with Sales Excellence programmes.

This role has a salary circa £42k plus Company Car, Bonus and additional benefits. Being educated to degree level would be advantageous however we would also consider applicants with qualifications in a construction related subject. You will need to have a full UK Driving Licence.

As Mechanical Project Engineer - Water / Waste Water Treatment Plant, you will assist the Project / Construction Manager in co-ordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy, ensuring information is issued in time to enable construction, commissioning and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme, providing cost data for forecasts and evaluation of variations.

You will have responsibility for:
- Improve forecasting, and ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
- Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
- Ensure applications are maximised to ensure an optimum cash flow
- Ensure contract reviews, monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time
- Maintain good client relationships at all levels
- Ensure projects are completed on time, target
- Assist with the Project Management strategy
- Deputise for the Project / Construction Manager as and when required
- Assist in co-ordinating the involvement of internal service departments
- Assist in the periodic monitoring of performance
- Establish and maintain the contract filing systems

- Ensuring that all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications. Ensure that the requirements of Minimum Asset Standards (MAS) are understood and adhered to. Engage with the MAS team to challenge and develop MAS and drive design consistency.
- Continuously strive to improve ways of working and promote innovation. Identify opportunities that may facilitate cost savings, carbon reductions or other efficiencies to the PADM/PAM.

We are recruiting a number of highly skilled contract Virtual Build Engineers/ Manufacturing Feasiblity Engineers to work within the Product Integration Team to support new product introduction from concept design through to prototype build and then supporting start of production.

Our client is an iconic car manufacturer based in Oxfordshire and due the launch of a new vehicle is looking to recruit a number of these Product Integrators on a long-term contract basis with excellent rates of pay to support with this exciting project across Interior Trim, Exterior Trim, Under floor, Engine.

You must have experience with:

  • Understanding of Automotive vehicle/component, design and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience of working in the virtual world, i.e. Catia V5, Digital Mock-Up (DMU), PRISMA, 4D Navigator.
  • Proven experience within new product introduction (NPI).
  • Ideally qualified to Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

We require proven candidates who have specialist knowledge in either Interior Trim, Exterior Trim, Underfloor, Engine product areas to project manage the complete process chain from part supplied through to finished product to ensure a seamless launch. Candidates must be highly analytical and competent communicators to influence others in this demanding and rewarding role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ‘New Product Buyer’ who will join the Purchasing team within a Global Electronics organisation.

In this role you will help deliver slip control electronics programmes within the Braking portfolio. New slip control programmes are due to launch from 2014 onwards with several major vehicle manufacturers. You will focus on delivering costed BOMs within target by developing effective sourcing strategies with the cross functional team. In addition there is an emphasis on driving safe supplier launches within the pre-defined programme milestones.

This entry level purchasing role will primarily support the Global Braking NPI but will also progressively take more responsibility in terms of owning specific programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide the interface between the supply base, Commodity Purchasing, SDE and the Programme Team.
  • Manage the sourcing process culminating in a Sourcing Committee meeting to select suppliers.
  • Ensure suppliers are initiated in a timely manner and tooling is released for industrialisation.
  • Own the costed Bill of Materials. Track and understand the cost changes to the BOM.
  • Drive the ongoing requirement to reduce material costs to a minimum and co-ordinate specific cost reduction initiatives with a focus on value engineering (VAVE).
  • Ensure a flawless supplier launch by leading regular Safe Launch Reviews to track and co-ordinate the advanced quality process (APQP) culminating in an on-time production part approval.

 

Looking for strong soft skills, communication, confident, well organised must give examples in CV. 

The ideal candidate will be educated within engineering / business to a degree standard or equivalent. Have good organizational, motivation and communication skills, be flexible to adapt to ever changing design solutions. Have a strong commercial acumen with strong negotiation skills whilst demonstrating business / financial awareness.

Product knowledge of electronic and mechanical column drive components would be an advantage.

This is a great opportunity for a CAD Engineer with Pro-E Wildfire 4/5 design software experience who is keen to learn Catia v5 which the company will be transitioning soon.
The key responsibilities will be mechanical drawing design/development. Prepare schematic diagrams and BOM's in liaison with Senior Engineers. Liaise with Electronics Designers to package PCB's into mechanical design. Documentation and various quality reports.

The key skills required are good experience of Use of Pro-E Wildfire 4/5, use of Microsoft Office. An appreciation of make like production design and ability to work with limited supervision.

Experience requirement - a very good understanding of Pro-E Wildfire is essential with experience of solid modelling. A background in mechanical process engineering for manufacturing. Experience of mechanical design process would be beneficial. A wider knowledge/interest in automotive systems and engineering desirable. An appreciation of mechanical design of rotating machines/electric motors would be desirable. Experience of version control and or die casting would also be desirable.

A minimum HNC qualification or higher is required.

A self-motivated and confident Stamping Engineer with strong experience of performing FEA simulations and a working knowledge of Catia V5, preferably with a sound Engineering background and proven press tool manufacturing experience, is required for this leading Automotive manufacturer based in Warwickshire.

You will be working within a busy Manufacturing Engineering department, although aspects of the role will require frequent travel to suppliers (overseas and UK based) as well as extended periods in Press Shops during commissioning periods in Press Shops during commissioning periods. You must have experience of working within a stamping engineering background and of Autoform FEA toolset or similar. In addition to this, a working knowledge of Catia V5 is essential. A relevant Engineering Degree is not essential but would be a distinct advantage, as would time served in a relevant Engineering discipline. Duties will include:

- Performing FEA simulations of stamping processes (AutoForm).
- Optimizing draw die developments to maximise efficiency and robustness.
- Defining stamping manufacture processes taking into account the most appropriate / available facilities, piece cost and tool cost implications.
- Ensuring that suppliers timing plans meet overall projects timing plans and negotiate implementation of change within project aspirations and reviewing and buy-off Stamping Processes, Tool Designs, Patterns and Dies to the required specifications.
Again, it is essential that you have experience with:

- Catia V5
- Stamping Engineering Background
- Performing FEA simulations using Autoform FEA or similar
This is a varied role and you will also spend time working with press shop personnel and suppliers to support the introduction and commissioning of tooling into internal or external press shop, as well as working on generating part and tooling costs and negotiating with suppliers. Moreoever, you will also be expected to provide technical support for toolmakers on resolution of process, design, manufacture and try-out problems. You will use your technical knowledge to provide feedback to Engineering to aid product manufacturability.

Working within the Suspension Systems Tuning Group, the Project Engineer. Suspension Systems Tuning is responsible for the design and development of Damper, Spring and Stabiliser Bar Systems, for the AWD platform. The team deliver ground-up designs of all these components from concept through detail design and into production. Each Engineer is responsible for achieving performance targets for their components to facilitate meeting dynamic and durability requirements. Close interaction is required across all suspension teams, other chassis functions and suppliers in order to achieve this.

Key Responsibilities:
-Ownership of components from concept to production.
-Ground-up design of components to meet or exceed performance targets.
-Design of components that adhere to departmental standards.
-Effective planning and delivery of overall layout, detail design, durability and validation Derivation of Engineering Specifications, DFMEA, Delivery Timing Plans and Design Verification Plans (DVP).
-Release of Engineering Drawings (WERS)
-Supplier discussions and communications.
-Resolution of engineering issues throughout process (AIMS)
-Leadership of other team members where applicable.

Skills Required:
