Our client is a world-leader in the provision of project management, technical engineering and construction services to the Water industry, on programs ranging from Water Supply, Treatment and Storage to Water Resources Management and Coastal Restoration. They are currently looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer at their Solihull office on a permanent / contract basis.

As Senior Mechanical Engineer - Steam / Power Generation, you produce superior quality engineering design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and consultancy contracts.

You will have responsibility for:
- Mechanical design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively
- Ensure that plant and equipment procured by the department is procured on time and to budget
- Ensure continuous improvement of the business processes
- Monitor design costs and provide design services appropriate to the allowance available
- Manage cost effective Mechanical designs by other Mechanical and Assistant Mechanical Engineers
- Co-ordinate designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWH in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole
- Produce designs which take account of safety requirements in accordance with CDM regulations

Applicants must possess a BEng in Mechanical Engineering, plus previous experience with Power/Steam generation, Ceaser II trained, knowledge of ASME V111 and will ideally be Chartered by IMECHE
