An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer with this major Aerospace company manufacturing complex engineered products. Processes principally include machining, assembly and test. This is a forward thinking company, committed to modern manufacturing processes with a very strong order book.
The main responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer will be to maintain and improve assembly and test processes.

Develop and maintain assembly instructions, tooling and equipment used for the assembly and test of Hydro Mechanical Units. Carry out DFA, PFMEA and PPS activities to support the Assembly and Test processes. Introduction of new products and processes. Provide Manufacturing Support.

You will have a technical background and will have experience of programming 5 axis machining centres using CAM software. You will also have a good understanding of tooling technology and fixture requirements. You will also need to have a good understanding of metrology - using CMM as well as offline conventional processes.
You will be Degree qualified with an engineering / technical background in the assembly and test of Hydro Mechanical components. Experience of building and/or testing Hydro Mechanical components would be an advantage. A good understanding of tooling and fixture design would also be beneficial.
