A Powertrain Launch Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.

Description
Position Description:
Part of the Launch team this position requires resolution of launch issues by the individual where appropriate and communication of the issues back to engineering at Gaydon and Whitley where resolution is not immediately accessible. The engineer will be based at Solihull with occasional need to travel to Gaydon & Whitley.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
•Good overall powertrain system knowledge
•Computer literate in Google, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project
•Valid UK driving licence
•Ability to interface directly to the vehicle programme teams and represent the Powertrain Department
•Flexible, adaptable and excellent communicator - written / oral

Skills Preferred:
Working knowledge of OEM project delivery & change management processes including GPDS, AIMS, WERS and eFDVS. Knowledge of relevant quality tools i.e. FMEA, 8D etc.

Details
Experience Required:
Powertrain system design / development or programme management. Launch experience.

Experience Preferred:
OEM specific process knowledge ideally gained in Product Development environment. Knowledge of the Solihull site.

Education Required:
It is anticipated that applicants will be educated to a degree level in an engineering or automotive discipline. However candidates with significant powertrain experience will also be considered.
