Our client is the leading Aluminium sheet supplier to the Automotive industry within Europe. Volumes of Aluminium sheet are set to increase dramatically over the coming years as the Automoive industry strives towards light vehicles to meet the ever increasing targets of vehicle efficiency, CO2 reduction. They are currently looking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer.
Part of small team supporting UK automotive customers. Responsible for providing customer support throughout program start-up and production.
Manage claims from OEM s and tier 1 suppliers. Work in partnership with supplier quality to achieve best solution for customer.
Pivotal role in start-up of world first aluminium intensive monocoque saloon. Responsible for on-time and quality order delivery to UK and Europe. Challenges involved smooth implementation of new cut-to-length line, laser cutting facility and logistical supply route.
First line of support to Jaguar press-shop, based at Castle Bromwich for two years. Applying Ford Global 8D process to solve production-related problems.
Set-up logistics to store and deliver 500ton/week of Aluminium sheet to customer.
Thorough understanding of through process repercussions of all decisions made, including impact on body/paint shop and end customer.
Participated in Ford Supplier Technical Assistance engineers course. Imparted working knowledge of Global 8D problem solving, failure mode and effect analysis and statistical process control.
