Our client provides a specialist approach to the design, supply and through life capability management of products in the military/non military sectors. The purpose of the role is to enhance the effectiveness of the sales team by providing support in the handling of enquiries and quotations throughout the sales process to achieve the timely development and delivery of winning bid solutions. You will also be an active member of the sales team, contributing to the promotion of
products and capabilities, supporting the lead generation process and marketing activities as required.
To assist the Business Development and Sales and/or Programme Managers in the company s proposal response from receipt of qualified leads and/or RFP s, ITT s etc. You will prepare Bid-Authorisation submission for bid/no-bid decisions, support bid teams as appropriate for specific bids/proposals, prepare and manage appropriate response action plans and schedules for each bid/proposal and pursue a policy of continual process improvement to enhance the speed of response completeness, accuracy and professionalism of the company`s bids and proposals. You will produce professional proposal documentation ranging from letters, technical and commercial documents, through to multi-volume tender responses, provide clear and effective handover to bid documentation to projects for mobilisation in the event of successful bids to the relevant project team, act as first point of contact for new telephone and internet enquiries, interpret customer requirements from a technical and commercial perspective and compile cost estimates as required in conjunction with the project managers and company`s finance staff.
You must have an engineering/technical background, good commercial awareness, the ability to communicate well at all levels both internally and in the customer and user communities, excellent interpersonal skills together with previous experience of writing technical reports and proposal documentation and the ability to present in a professional manner. You must also be computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint, have in-depth experience in a sales/customer facing environment, have experience of UK Defence and procurement processes and be educated to degree/HNC/HND level or equivalent.
