Position Description:
This is a key role in powertrain cooling with responsibility for the component engineering element of cooling design. Capable in either the heat exchanger or pipe/tanks/valves. Powertrain cooling is responsible for the cooling design, development and sign off. It is organised into two component groups 1) Heat exchanger systems and 2) Pipes, tanks and valves, with supporting Development and System Strategies groups. The department is responsible for taking concept design from the Advanced Product Creation (APC) team, refining and driving those designs into production. The department has a wide variety of work, currently having major projects on most of the OEM model lines.

Skills Required:
Experience of powertrain systems is strongly recommended. Ideas, CATIA V4 & CATIA V5 required. Core engineering experience, with the ability to evaluate problems and propose resolutions. The role will require an adaptable individual who is able to deal with a number of diverse tasks. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role. Construct overall delivery plan and maintain it. Work with other OEM CAD teams to import and export CAD data. Develop and validate CAD package/design to encompass all engine derivatives and lessons learned. Maintain CAD package/design to OEM standards and criteria. PC literate in all core packages. In addition the successful candidate should be able to work with the supplier base and drive in the principles and operating practices associated with GPDS. The role will be responsible for

The quality of test data, results analysis and reporting

Adhering to or seeking deviation for the development procedures

Feeding back test results to the internal and external customer in a timely manner

Duties will include (but not be limited to)

To lead, plan and supervise engine development programs

To conduct detailed analysis of test results

To prepare technical reports, presentations and papers

To supervise project teams either individually or work under the direction of a project manager.

To contribute to technical capability of the thermodynamic department

The company is a leading international development partner to the automotive industry. They are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer to support day to day process and product elements of manufacture of castings including Project management, FMEA, Control Plan, Manufacturing Instructions and interpretation of process audit and product quality data to prevent problems occurring at source.

Also, responsibility to lead the process of defining and implementing manufacturing solutions for production of high integrity aluminium alloy components. Working with the Technical Manager to lead resolution of issues related to product quality and process stability and implementation of Lean manufacturing techniques.

Please Note this is a 12 month contract initially Duties will include:

Assessment of CAD and 2D drawing data for manufacturing feasibility review.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the business and lean manufacturing approach.

Generate technical drawings using CAD

Evaluate existing manufacturing systems with a view to the justification of change and improvement

Define and document the specification covering casting processes and post processing to achieve specified production volumes and performance characteristics of the products.

Position Description:

For the job role as a Cost Estimator we would be seeking highly motivated, financially aware Production Engineers. It is essential that individuals are experienced in high volume production, preferably within the motor industry and have an in depth knowledge of how works costs are derived from first principles. A basic understanding of activity based costing (ABC) and work study tools including motion and time movement (MTM) is highly desirable. A high level of computer literacy is required so that the individual can quickly work with the sophisticated systems that will be available to aid them.

Establishing estimates for part and tooling costs for various purchased components and assemblies used on present and future vehicles

Liaising with internal cross-functional teams to ensure the company maintains its competitiveness with regard to cost, quality and value for money
