Job Purpose Summary:

Working within the Project Team, specifies and delivers manufacturing assembly solutions from concept through to volume production.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Able to conceptually create a process including manufacturing feasibility.
  2. Support quotation process with technical expertise
  3. Identify robust manufacturing assembly line solutions
  4. Manage assembly line delivery from concept to volume production.
  5. Typical project investments are in the region of 2 -3 million pounds.
  6. Management of final buy off machinery at receiving plant.
  7. Creation of all supporting documentation to the customer and internally including Capacity Analysis, Process / Material Flow, Standard Operating Documentation, PFMEA etc.
  8. Continually develop machine concepts & standards to strive for world class standards.

Previous Experience Essential

  • 1st Tier Automotive
  • Body in White / Chassis (or similar pressed / welded assemblies)
  • Assembly Line delivery

Advantageous

  • Robotic Welding – Resistance or MIG

Obtain and maintain Quality system certification.
Define, animate and obtain the quality system certification for the Division (ISO9001).
Perform Quality Audits such as Process, System and Product audits in the Division.

Manage weekly and monthly quality reporting for the Division.

Technical Project Manager - Automotive - Birmingham - £Excellent and bens.

A Technical Project Manager is required with experience in MFG, RandD environments. Core functions will include: Reviewing Electronic Control Unit (ECU) applications within an Automotive RandD environment. Additional duties will be to implement the appropriate Engineering processes and procedures, insuring technical objectives are met in respect of cost, test and validation, quality and their delivery meeting client expectations and Project gateways and timeframes.

Best Practice will be sought in meeting Design releases, Metrics and Management reporting, whilst implementing Technical leadership, managing on-going technical reviews and the co-ordination of all aspects of Project changes when required]. The role will include budgetary input across the Teams resources, costs and deliverables, whilst possessing the ability to recognise when issues need to be escalated to senior managers.

This is for a world class Mfg and RandD company that wish to remain at the cutting edge of their sector in delivering Automotive Systems and components, focussed on the safety and durability of their product range. Based in Birmingham this role is the result of the continued success in filling a forward looking order book, existing project workload and a fervent desire to remain at the forefront of their sector.

You must have experience with,
- A degree in Engineering or Business Planning Management
- 3+ Years in a Project Management role in a high volume Mfg sector (Auto/Aero)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to recognise priority issues
- Experience in Electronics Design, 6 Sigma Trained, MS Project, Automotive Industry QA procedures and reporting would be desirable but not essential.

An Electronics Engineer is required with a minimum of 4+ years high volume Electronic circuit design and development. You will be responsible for the creation of new circuit designs covering a wide range of analogue and digital technologies and applications. The role will report to the ECU (Electronics Control Unit) Team Leader, and the role will lead/assist the team on ECU development and applications across a range of Automotive components and systems.

Frequent tasks will include circuit analysis, tolerancing using such tools as SABER, SPICE and MathCAD. The post will be part of a specialist team of designers developing Microprocessors, Power supply, filtering and switching. Also closely involved with Motor Control, ASIC and Analogue design and EMC.

The above will be used in the development of Electric Power Steering, EPHS and Powertrain applications, utilising a range of Motor Drives across our clients Product range.

This is for a World Class, established Industry leader in Electronic and Mechanical safety focused Systems based in Birmingham. This role is sought owing to the ever increasing and current project workload and growing order book and to reinforce the company's position as the world leader in their field.

Essential Requirements:
BEng/BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or closely related Science based discipline, also likely to hold an MSc.
Confident Client, team and Supplier facing skills based on your knowledge of EandE technologies and requirements capture/challenge ability.
Possess the will and drive to travel globally as Projects and clients demand across the UK, EU and USA.
UML or Model based development using Matlab and Simulink.
Ability to work in support and mentor younger Team Members.
Experienced in Safety and QA issues (FMEA, ISO etc).

You must have experience with,
- Mass Production environments
- Working in Multi-disciplinary teams
- Clear communication skills with external agents, partners, clients and suppliers alike
- Experience acting as the Senior/Lead Engineer in their absence is highly desirable, seeing this post as the next step in your career to date. Any knowledge of a foreign language would also be a distinct advantage.
