Industrial Engineer - Automotive Assembly - £20 to £25 P/H

An Industrial Engineer is required for our automotive client who is looking to improve efficiencies within their manufacturing plant. With
experience in MTM, MOST, Takt Time and other time study and motion techniques you will be responsible for the following:

Role Overview

  • Measuring the time required to perform the work utilising recognised tools and techniques.
  • Create an efficient and workable line balancing using LEMO II for both pre and current production activities.
  • Take responsibility for reporting timing against build activities to enable an effective strategy for planning the delivery of production and productivity to include, RTO Adherence, System Efficiency, Overtime, Absenteeism, LTA & WTA Balances.
  • Involvement with central COC - providing data for various benchmarking activities: Harbour Report, Cube, etc., Developing & Supporting VPS activities both Internally & Externally to IE department

Key Accountabilities

  • Broad view of possibilities and options are needed to be generated in the creation of an efficient line balance.
  • Understanding of the Logistics systems and constraints is also required.
  • Influencing Process Planning to ensure Process
  • Design for Assembly concepts adhered to.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical qualifications in work standard measurement for a variety of techniques: time study, MTM, UAS, etc.,
  • Good presentation skills as well as forecasting (estimating) and planning.
  • Need to understand the effects of the line balance (and in turn take appropriate actions) of logistics, build constraints, line side layout, material presentation, tooling, ergonomics, volumes and model mix, worker density and facilities.
  • Good numerical skills and the ability to sell concepts to others with the ability to introduce plans and changes in a timely & cost effective manner.

The contract rates and benefits for the roles are competitive with the duration being for 12 – 24 months due to the length of the project which has
the possibility to be extended into 2015.
