Our automotive client is a market leader in luxury and high volume off-road vehicles, designing and manufacturing in the Midlands. They are recruiting for a Programme Cost Engineer.
Job Description
Cost Engineering enables us to take exciting journeys as a business. Providing robust financial information and expert strategic insight, the team helps drive profitable growth - allowing us to make further breakthroughs in the development of premium, luxury vehicles.
Candidate Profile
Focusing on core vehicle commodities - from Exterior, Interior and Power Train to Chassis, and Electrical - you’ll support and often lead ‘product-costing across key areas. Working with Design Engineers and Purchasing Teams you will identify and support opportunities to reduce costs throughout the programme life cycle. And you’ll influence the direction of programmes and commodities on product costs, and support cross-functional, cross-brand and supplier charge
The ideal candidate will have a solid cost-engineering knowledge, gained through proven experience in a relevant industrial sector. You’ll need a degree / professional qualification or an equivalent level of experience. A high level of technical awareness at both the production process and cost-driver level is vital. Excellent communication skills and able to think on your feet and make strong and appropriate decisions. Ideally you will have some experience of project management.
