Program / Project Manager - Automotive -- £40,000 - £50,000 - North East

My client part of a market leading international group dedicated to the design, development and manufacture of metal components and structural systems for the automotive industry. Reporting to the UK Program Manager, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly professional person to manage and introduce new chassis products through the use of a cross functional team principles

Main Duties
In line with the demands of global Customers for a global supply network, my client have an international business, and based within a growing Business Unit that will effectively support the introduction of new products manufacturing bases across the globe.

Job description
-A key element of the role is to develop a culture of continuous improvement and build strong customer relationship as well as motivating all staff involved in the program and to ensure their individual performance is reviewed and in line with company and program objectives.
-Take a lead in global quotation activities during the customer enquiry stage and continue to provide on going support during this process.
Required to manage program's QCD from concept stage to divisional launch, including all prototype phases and support divisional global product implementation teams.
-The post holder will have responsibility for defining program timing and milestone targets to ensure customer and company requirements.
-Take the lead and co-ordinate regular reviews in order to establish progress against program plans and ensure any corrective action is implemented as necessary to ensure that QCD is achieved.


Key skills and experience
-Experience in providing a fully integrated service to the customer within a Vehicle Development environment and ability to travel and work at customer / division sites when required
-Candidates will be qualified to degree or equivalent level in Engineering or related subject.
-The successful candidate will require strong people management skills and ability to lead, manage and motivate a team across global locations.
-You will have a proven track record of delivering major engineering / capital programs on time and within budget constraints.
-Commercial awareness and business acumen will be needed along with the ability to translate customer requirements and specification into a concise work plan achievable and clear to those in internal functional areas.
