The focus is very much driveability calibration, not base engine calibration. I would expect any candidate to judge their suitability in the first instance against whether they had worked on any aspect of vehicle driveability calibration, either engine or transmissions, in vehicle. This experience would be the starting point, not general experience of gearboxes or engines.
