A Calibration Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Position Description:
Calibration of hybrid or micro hybrid functions of powertrain calibration. Responsible for the driveability calibration and controls development and proving for the full Hybrid Vehicle Supervisory Control. Responsible for calibration delivery of hybrid plug in for Powertrain Control Module for micro hybrid. Accountable to Manager of the Hybrid Controls Team and integral part of vehicle calibration group for the vehicle. Job Requirements
...The focus for the work is combining those three elements to make a powertrain that is one cohesive unit and seamlessly switches between the two sources of motive power in the vehicle. The focus is very much driveability calibration, not base engine calibration. I would expect any candidate to judge their suitability in the first instance against whether they had worked on any aspect of vehicle driveability calibration, either engine or transmissions, in vehicle. This experience would be the starting point, not general experience of gearboxes or engines.

Skills Required:
•Previous experience of driveability calibration and preferably proving of controls systems in vehicles
•Understanding of the trade offs between fuel economy, emissions and driveability
•Able to work with engines or vehicle, chassis rolling road and proving ground
•A working understanding of hybrid technology, its fundamental principles and vehicle supervisory control systems
•Capable in Matlab/Simulink, experience of dSpace/ControlDesk and INCA
•The Calibrator must have a OEM PG2 licence or the capability to be trained in this - full UK driving license, minimum age of 25 years and extensive driving experience
•It is not expected that anyone without an Electrical/Electronic/Engine Development background could achieve Calibrator capability.
Experience Required:
Matlab/Simulink dSpace/Control Desk and INCA powertrain calibration or other system calibration.
Education Preferred:
Degree level or higher
