Our client designs and manufactures aerostructures for both the civil and military aerospace markets.
We are seeking to appoint 2x Assembly Manufacturing Engineers on a 6-month contract, based near to Southampton.
As Assembly Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
* Create, modify or improve engineering processes and create/modify Bill Of Material (BoM) as required.
* Create assembly manufacturing plans defining the method of manufacture.
* Analyse manufacturing processes using Lean manufacturing techniques and implement process improvements.
* Identify and justify new technologies as appropriate
* Support design for manufacture activities on New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes
* Assist with creating Process Qualification documents for new and existing customers.
* Investigate and resolve assembly shop queries.
* Embody customer modifications to existing processes.
* Perform COSHH assessments on new material introduction.
* Perform Risk Assessments within the manufacturing environment.
It is essential for applicants to have the following experience:
* Experience in using Catia to view models (not create)
* Experience in Assembly Manufacture and Engineering
* Capable of creating detailed Manufacturing Plans
* Experience of Lean Manufacture
* Knowledge of tooling Working with Tool Design and the Shop Fitters to develop and design a new lean and ergonomic set of assembly jigs.
In addition, you should be capable of implementing sound engineering solutions and have a good understanding and evidence of Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing implementation.
Self-motivated and prepared to go the extra mile when required.
Prepared to travel abroad and within the UK to meet with customers and/or suppliers.
