Our automotive client is a market leader in luxury and high volume off-road vehicles, designing and manufacturing in the Midlands.To assist Technical Buyers in identifying and sourcing parts to existing or new suppliers to support significant reduction in number of parts not sourced. Primary Focus will be parts that have backorders outstanding and focus on parts that have no supplier sourced to determine if parts should be turned down (refuse to accept further dealer orders) or identify appropriate source in the event of a dealer order being made.
JOB DUTIES: Working within the purchasing IM Vendor team, supporting the Technical Buyers to identify suppliers (ideally within existing supplier base) and reach agreement on commercial terms ie: price, minimum order quantities, order multiples and lead times. Required to work directly with supplier, pre-procurement, parts engineering, pricing, engineering and the planning teams at CAT.. Updating status reports for management review. Knowledge of SAP to raise info recs for Buyer.
Experience Required:
Background/Experience and Skills: This position requires a commercial background preferably within Purchasing, but able to evaluate business case proposals. An understanding of processes and systems (SAP, MicroCAT) would be beneficial. SAP experience preferred. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team or under own initiative in a pressurized environment.. Must be an effective communicator and work with all levels of personnel, inside and outside of the company including frequent contact with external supplier representatives/management
