We are recruiting for a permanent Process Control Engineer based in Peterborough.

As Process Control Engineer, this role will encompass an interesting spectrum relating to new business initiatives and managing ongoing Supplier Performance improvements.

* APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) Management for all NPI programmes (specific to 6 Engine Manufacturing Facilities Globally).
* PCN (Process Change Notification) process management ensuring supplier process change requests are controlled and robustly implemented.
* Ensuring all relevant requirements and related changes are thoroughly documented e.g. Process FMEA {failure mode and effects analysis}, Process Control Plans, Gage RandR {repeatability and reproducibility}).
* Validate Supplier stated Process Capabilities.
* PPAP (production part approval process) completion and approval prior to delivery of new parts

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
This is an excellent entry point for Engineering or Manufacturing professional with a real desire to focus on continuous improvement. The role will provide substantial exposure across the business globally and a good platform for career progression into leadership roles across a variety of disciplines.

Essential:
* A minimum of three years of job-related experience
* A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) preferably in engineering
* Engineering or manufacturing background plus familiarity with manufacturing processes used to produce components and assemblies for Caterpillar Products
* Knowledge of shop operations

Desirable:
* Quality engineering certification
* Experience with 8D
* APQP experience
* History of managing supplier relationships demonstrated by purchasing or supply chain experience
* 6 Sigma experience as a Green Belt or Black Belt
* Working knowledge of metrology
