Our client is a world leading manufacturer of cabin interior products for commercial passenger aircraft and business jets, as well as, a wide range of cabin interior design, reconfiguration and certification services, including the conversion of passenger aircraft to freighter use. They are currently looking to recruit a Buyer to support the Aftermarket team.
Proactively manage all material suppliers in a timely manner to meet requirements.
To ensure that all customers requirements (internal and external) are met.
Working within the Aftermarket Purchasing team to procure parts to customer requirements within set timescales.
Liaising with other departments in the business to interpret/understand customer needs.
Using the MRP system to understand demand and place purchase orders.
Maintain the information in the MRP system to ensure that (amongst others) supplier information, leadtimes, pricing and safety stock levels are correct.
The professional acquisition of parts in a timely manner at a price equal to or less than the accounting Standard cost.
Inventory management through scheduling and communication with suppliers including the use of the BE Aerospace Buyer Supplier portal.
Responsibility for the security of the supply chain and the uninterrupted supply of all materials.
Attending progress/production meetings.
Utilise where possible approved Low Cost Country suppliers to contribute to an overall purchasing spend of x per cent (where x = the current key objective figure) of total spend in LCC.
