Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.
Procurement of Engineered components and systems from a developing and world wide supply base to support transfer of battery assembly
Work with Engineering and Project Management to provide Purchase input from the start of supplier engagement
Negotiation of Design and Development Contracts as well as identification of Production volume supplier of parts required.
Liaison with Manufacturing Quality Team
Running of the RFQ tender process
Timely processing of Purchase Order Requisitions and issuing orders
Monitor and report performance of Purchase
Identification and evaluation of alternative suppliers to extend Preferred Supplier List
Establish target list of key purchase commodity groups and through negotiation and supplier management obtain `best value` procurement
Drive systemic reduction in 80M costs through Purchase action in collaboration with engineered change
As part of Purchase Team, develop infrastructure of processes and systems
Degree or Purchasing Diploma qualification
Membership of a professional body (CIPS) or equivalent
Ability to work cross functionally to obtain best value on the procurement of
prototype and low volume component supply
Effective negotiation, analytical and evaluation skills
Sound commercial and financial awareness
Ability to build strong supplier/customer relationships
Experience of procurement on an international basis
Demonstrable track record of cost-down achievement
Previous Automotive experience highly preferable
Knowledge of Purchase of Engineered Parts
Conversant with Quality Management Systems, specifically ISO 9001 and TS 16949 as applied to Tier 1 Suppliers
Understanding of SQA Processes, especially PPAP
Significant travel to Norway and liaison with Miljo Team
Travel to suppliers in the UK and Europe as required
Occasional travel to India and cell supplier in Korea
when requested.
