Our client is a major automotive component supplier manufactures high integrity, engineered, electro-mechanical systems. With strong vision and investment plans, and an excellent order book, they now seeking to appoint a CAE Product Engineer (Chassis Systems) on a permanent basis in Solihull.
With the growing EPS business it is critical to assess the product performance early in the development process by utilising virtual CAE methodologies.

As CAE Product Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting CAE simulation tasks, focusing on structural strength, stiffness, durability and NVH related attributes. You will be provided with challenging opportunities to expand existing and new methods in a global environment along with:
* Liaise with, and provide support to, the mechanical design teams in the CAE analysis of steering systems and components to ensure compliance with customer specifications and legal requirements
* Interface with customer CAE departments to ensure proper delivery of CAE models and results according to agreed timelines and processes
* Create, analyse, modify, and post process mathematical models and correlate to test data. You will be required to interpret results with a view to improving the design of the product against given design criteria
* Generate work

Applicants are required to have the following experience:
Essential -
* Educated to degree standard with solid mechanical and numerical analysis background
* Solid knowledge in one or more of the typical commercially available FEA software packages such as
Abaqus, MSC/Nastran, ANSYS, HyperWorks and LMS Virtual.Lab
* Familiar with the analysis of chassis components and systems in terms of Noise Vibration and Harshness, Stiffness, Strength and Durability

Desirable -
* Ability to work to given timescales and prioritise projects
* Team player with excellent communication skills; able to provide technical information both verbally and in technical reports or presentations
* Basic knowledge of system level dynamic modelling would be advantageous
* Knowledge of 'Six Sigma' methodologies would be advantageous
* German language skills advantageous
