Production Supervisor
Castle Bromwich, West Midlands, England

A new temporary 4-6 week contract opportunity has arisen for a Production Supervisor in the Birmingham area.

Reporting to the Operation Manager, the individual will work within the Production team and have the following key deliverables / KPIs:

- Blow Rates and 5S.
- Improve OEE.
- Health, Safety and Environmental concerns.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

- Manage operators in all aspects of production / finishing ensuring good communication on hand over of tasks
- Effective budgetary management
- Successful introduction of NPI and Engineering Change through excellent cross-functional working
- Supervise and co-ordinate daily activities of the production team
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of power presses / machines focussing on improving strike rate, part quality and reducing downtime
- Ensure shop floor management IT systems run in a "real time" environment with 100% reconciliations of hourly production runs
- Ensure production department adhere to ISO TS16949 quality management system requirements
- Ensure that the shift work to their standard operation instructions and meet the requirements of productivity / quality, health and safety
- Manage issue of consumables and PPE within budget
- Monitor production, recording hourly performance in absolute detail of parts produced / good /scrap /rework and downtime
- drive and monitor SMED activities on tool change
- Ensure that housekeeping and 5S activities are carried out as required
- Manage weekend production activities and ensure adequate cover is provided


Role Requirements:

- Certificate (GCSE) in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Must be computer literate, have demonstrable MS Office ability
- Previous press operating experience with large scale, high speed, automated presses producing aluminium and steel "A" class panels.
- Good written and oral communication skills
