A world renowned manufacturer of luxury sports cars; its name is well known and needs little introduction. Its people are passionate about the cars they produce and it s a great place to work. The sports cars will continue to be hand-built and bespoke but the company also use the latest high technology processes and leading edge disciplines in a very modern environment. It is profitable, growing in a rapid but controlled manner and moving into new global markets. As a result it is seeking to add to the Body Engineering - Vehicle Safety team.

Based in Warwickshire, this role will appeal to candidates based in Birmingham, Warwick, Coventry, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Solihull, Banbury.
The purpose of the role is to deliver vehicle safety electronic components systems across car lines ensuring all functional and system requirements are met including program targets and legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities and tasks will include:

  • Performance delivery of passive safety electronic systems including restraints control module, occupant classification
  • Responsible for engineering releases for all safety electronic components
  • Management of external suppliers to ensure delivery of systems
  • Chair Program Module Sub-team meetings
  • Establish and confirm vehicle, system and component level targets
  • Commodity planning and design verification test planning
  • Responsible for engineering signoff/approval of systems
  • Drive engineering issue resolution to meet all program targets and constraints
  • Responsible for concerns resolution process for all safety electronic systems
  • Support data acquisition from crash testing and dynamic misuse and abuse work
  • This role will appeal to a recent Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or similar Graduate (2.1 minimum), however candidates with some industry experience will be at an advantage.
  • Must have a strong understanding of fundamental mechanical and electrical engineering theory
  • Whilst some experience of electronics would be beneficial the role is suitable for someone with a purely Mechanical Engineering background
  • Evidence for enthusiasm for the role and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with a self starting and self motivating attitude
  • The candidate must be able to learn quickly and integrate into a successful, dynamic and supportive team
