Our client is a world leading manufacturer of cabin interior products for commercial passenger aircraft and business jets, as well as, a wide range of cabin interior design, reconfiguration and certification services, including the conversion of passenger aircraft to freighter use.

This role is based in the Bedfordshire area, close to the M1 and is commutable from Dunstable, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Luton.

As the Import Administrator, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the customs clearance of goods for the SAO and Structures businesses, ensuring compliance to HMRC regimes, regulations and requirements.

Day management of the applicable customs regime (EG IPR) including regular, accurate reporting to HMRC as required
*Point of contact for HMRC enquiries, demands etc, relating to importation of goods
*Ensuring compliance with customs import regimes, including control and limitation of exposure to duty and VAT liability.
*Liaison with HMRC compliance officers, ensuring renewal of IPR status (or other duty relief regime) as appropriate.
*Host HMRC Compliance audits as required.
*Ensure accurate, appropriate clearance instructions are issued for all goods imported on behalf of B/E LB.
*Liaison with other departments to ensure record retention, operational compliance etc.
*Ensure Import data and records are securely retained for period specified by regulations.
*Manage completion, validation and submission to HMRC of B/E LB internal material disposal report.
*Completion and maintenance of any `end use` records, including diverting IPR entries to home use if appropriate.
You will be qualified to A level or with equivalent, relevant experience:
*BIFA (or comparable) qualification in Freight Forwarding, *Customs Procedures or International Trade preferred.
*Demonstrated knowledge of UK Customs (import) regulations and regimes.
*Previous experience in Customs-related role.
*Knowledge of general logistics processes and procedures.
*Ability to digest and interpret complex regulatory requirements.
*Effective communicator both verbal and written.
*Ability to work to deadlines under pressure.
*Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
*Enthusiastic, flexible and willing to work as part of a team.
*Proficient with Microsoft, Excel and Word, and other general office software.
