Senior HR Officer
Royston, Hertfordshire, England

Responsibility for providing an effective and HR service to the business, in terms of recruitment and selection, employment relations and training and development. Experience of handling projects within a HR setting at a fairly senior level but can also help out on the generalist side of things at a senior level. On occasions will deputise for the HR Manager when required. A good all rounder that can work at a senior level and hit the ground running. This is a small dynamic team and they work at a very fast pace so experience of working within a fast paced environment and that can easily slot in with the rest of the team.
Act as a resource to managers to identify key training initiatives in order to deliver key people related objectives. Provide a dispute resolution service to the business including participation in counselling, discipline and grievance, and severance matters. Develop, maintain and review systems of control in relation to audit requirements and risk management. Be an integral member of the HR team, contributing actively to the design and delivery of the HR plans required ensuring best practice. To promote and advise on Group and Regional policies, assisting with the update and implementation of new policies, procedures and guidance notes when required. To undertake or contribute to ad hoc HR project activities and initiatives as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:-

CIPD level qualification or equivalent.

Preferably post-graduate level relevant qualification.

Experience in a unionised manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

Good working knowledge of employment law and workplace discipline.

Good understanding of Job grading andevaluation systems.

Good understanding of performance management systems.

Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and to influence at all levels.

Attention to details, with excellent organisational skills.

Flexible and pro-active approach, with the drive to deliver results in a fast paced environment
