Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.
We are recruiting for a Principal Clay Modeller on 4-month contract based in Coventry.
As Principal Clay Modeller, the main tasks of the role are:
* Support the Design Team with the delivery of 3D physical design properties.
* Work directly with the design team to Develop 3D design properties for design reviews.
* Support the designers with feasible solutions to design proposals.
* Be able to use CMM equipment
* Be computer literate to support the design process.
* Have a good eye for design proportions and able to work to a high standard on intricate models.
* Work directly with Alias modelling and studio engineering teams to develop physical properties.
The core requirements of the role include:
* Strong numeracy and literacy
* Experience of automotive OEM modelling is essential.
* Good logical reasoning.
* Demonstrates depth of knowledge in a relevant technical speciality.
* Ability to inspire a team to strive for improvements and high customer service.
* Ability to overcome cultural barriers
* Excellent clay modelling proficiency
* Excellent hard modelling proficiency
* A working knowledge of component manufacturing tooling requirements.
* Alias modelling support understanding.
* Excellent communicator, with an eye for detail.
* Self motivated and have the ability to motivate others around you.
* Ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
