We are recruiting for a Logistics Clerk on a ongoing contract based in Peterborough.
This newly created position will focus on the timely processing and approval of invoices for outbound freight services. The Logistics Clerk may also provide valuable reporting and analysis of Freight accruals to help identify cost saving opportunities and enable the Finance and Despatch teams to forecast Freight costs more accurately.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Reconciling and Processing Freight Service invoices which are received from the supplier into Accounts Payable. These are logged and received via the Invoice Discrepancy database and must be approved within 5 days of receipt.
* Accurate input into the Access Database of all outbound invoice approvals.
* Effective use of the Web based Transwide booking system and Invoice and ECI Databases within Lotus Notes.
* Calculate and maintain the accuracy of a containerisation matrix for use when producing freight accruals and FDI calculations.
* Regular and effective communication with Freight Suppliers to resolve invoice queries via email and telephone.
* Reconciliation against the freight and customer invoices to ensure FDI is recovered.
* Maintaining a good working relationship with the Freight Suppliers with regards to service and cost.
* Liaising closely with the Despatch Planners to retrieve information needed to reconcile shipments to invoices.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* Experience in data processing position.
* Consistent focus on accuracy.
* Intermediate Excel spreadsheet experience and the ability manipulate data.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Inco terms
* Microsoft Access experience
* Experience of preparing financial reports
