Development Engineer - 3301

We are recruiting for a Development Engineer on a ongoing contract based in Stafford.
This position would suit a recent graduate or someone who has only been working in industry for a limited time.
As Development Engineer, you must be flexible as the role involves working on a wide variety of projects within a small multi skilled team.
* Mechanical verification and validation of engine components.
* Defining component specifications and test plans
* Co ordination of the day-to-day engineering activity and management of the test resource in line with the test plan.
* Development of engine components and failure analysis / with reporting directly into the Pre-Production Reliability Development (PPRD) quality system.
* Ensure all activities will are carried out to operating procedures and local work methods in order to meet compliance with Quality standards.
* Support to the design function is required through FMEA attendance and component APQP reviews.
* The role will require collaboration with all platform teams based at the Stafford facility.
* Working closely with UK and US based facilities.
* Occasional overseas travel will be necessary as required by business needs
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* Engineering Degree or other equivalent qualification/experience
* PC literacy, excellent use of all MS office components.
* Experienced in analysing complex engine test data
* Experience of writing engineering sign off reports
* P and E and / or mechanical Diesel engine development experience.
Desirable:
* Previous experience of using of vibration measuring equipment, analysis and compilation of sign off reports
* Knowledge of Perkins Products and processes
* The ability to use CANAPE CAN based ECM monitoring software.
* Planning, conducting and reporting on engine based noise and vibration testing.
* Knowledge of emissions measurement techniques, worldwide emission regulations and emissions measurement hardware.
* Knowledge of Turbocharger matching, fuel system optimisation and control system development
