Reporting to the Test Rig Manager the Test Rig Development Engineer will primarily be required to support the development of test rig capabilities to meet the specified requirements of the product development and validation teams.
Responsibilities will include:
Liaising with the product and validation groups, capturing and documenting test rig capability requirements
Documenting acceptance criteria, implementing agreed solutions within defined project timescales
Providing technical competence in the following fields
Mechanical systems
Electrical systems
Rig control application
Instrumentation
Providing technical reports on delivered solutions
Good working knowledge of all HDB products (F2, F2P, HPCRS and ETC)
Diagnosing failing product to component level
Analysing data and suggesting test strategy improvements
Problem solving though innovative techniques
Documenting rig quality issues and implementing solutions using rig 8D council
Supplier development to ensure bought in components meet specified requirements
Familiar with the use of various software applications - Matlab and Labview
Ensure adherence to quality control standards, QS900, ISO1400 and TS16949
Contribute and participate in Total Quality activity to promote an environment of continuous improvement whilst ensuring a safe working environment with full compliance to relevant legislation
