Diesel Base Engine Programme Project Engineer
Coventry, West Midlands, England
£24.60 - 24.60 per hour

The role is to support the Diesel Base Engine Programme Manager in the day to day delivery of the diesel base engine programme. Activities may include, but will not be limited to:
- Compilation and management of target brochures.
- Development of programme and activity timing plans.
- Management of design release and component ordering planning.
- Cost and weight tracking and management.
- Gateway deliverable status tracking and reporting.
- Creation and management of relevant programme reporting metrics.
- Tracking and management of issue resolution e.g. AIMS, CCAR, etc.
- Support of Vehicle line customers during prototype vehicle builds and launch activities.

The Programme Office interfaces primarily with the base engine design team, development, calibration, and engine management teams. In addition the team interacts with Finance, Purchase, Manufacturing Engineering, other CoC's and Vehicle Engineering teams to ensure a joined up delivery of overall programme deliverables.

Skills Required:
This is a challenging role with much to be delivered under tight time, resource and financial constraints. Key to delivery will be a flexible, can do attitude mixed with a combination of competence to get the job done and the honesty to speak up when you are unsure or need guidance. As such:
- Some experience in Project Management is essential as are good communication and presentation skills.
- Highly competent in PC desktop applications e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- High levels of personal organisation and motivation are essential. Happy to use own initiative to tackle problems and flexible in your approach to achieve the best programme results.
- Good understanding of the product development process is required, including GPDS/PCS.
- Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure with low levels of supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills are important to communicate across all levels, and these should be combined with a confident attitude.

Skills Preferred:
A good general knowledge of engine systems and components would be advantageous. Familiarity with key OEM PD IT systems will be beneficial, including Integrator, eFDVS, GPIRS, WERS etc.

Experience Required:
Relevant experience in similar project management role is essential.

Education Required:
Educated to HNC/HND level, in a relevant field or subject. Extensive automotive experience

Education Preferred:
Ideally educated to Degree level, in a relevant field or subject.

Additional Information:
Full UK driving licence with less than 6 penalty points.
